Interesting...

I am in a bible study right now where we are covering The Foundations of Christianity. When we started it, I thought it was going to be a refresher course on the bible verses supporting the Trinity and works vs. faith etc....but it is much more difficult than I was expecting. Within the foundations, are many very highly debated theologically issues, all of which I have considered to some degree and come to my belief, but as I am studying I am learning that I have not researched many of these topics as indepth as I once may have thought.

Last week, we brushed over predestination and although bible study itself did not make me question predestination, I began bringing it up with some of my friends (including discussing this along with catholicism, abortion and politics with Catherine during our TEN MILE run...haha it definately made the run go by fast) to hear their view on it. It was through those discussions that I feel challenged to come to a more supported conclusion on my views of predestination. Thanks Josh for your suggestions...I am definately going to start reading. Part of me wishes I didn't work, so I could just dive into this stuff, because I know the rate at which I read through things while working, but it is what it is and I am praying that God will use the little time I do have to teach me. So here I go, I am going to study predestination until I get a clear understanding and BIBLICAL base for what I believe. I am a little afraid, but that is ok because it will allow me to rely on God and not my own understanding.

That is my theme right now..."It is what it is." With everything going on with the hurricane and busy life and unexpected things happening, I keep finding myself saying that. Because I trust that God knows all things and that I don't....so when things happen, like losing power, and you can't do anything about it...It is what it is.

Oh, and we finally got power late Friday night....Praise Jesus...if I don't eat out for a month I will consider myself blessed...except Wednesday for Erin's Birthday...can't wait to CELEBRATE!!!

HAPPY MONDAY!
