First Annual Cottage Grove Crawfish Boil

This past weekend we had our First Annual crawfish boil with our block of neighbors. We have been blessed with some wonderful neighbors. Over Christmas we did a Progressive Dinner and this is our spring get together.

We had PERFECT weather on Saturday. It was hot and beautiful. We had plenty of drinks and games to keep us occupied until it was crawfish time.

I don't have a picture of him, but Jason was the mastermind behind the crawfish. The food was WONDERFUL.

I was in charge of dessert. I made brownies, lemon bars and my VERY FIRST homemade Apple Pie. It turned out pretty good!! It was gone pretty quick, that is for sure.

All the dogs were outside for the party too. Spencer got hot, so this is where he spent his time.

These are our neighbors Sam, Trisha and little Samantha. Samantha's dancing antics are always great entertainment.

Before we cooked the Crawfish we had a crawfish race. This doesn't really work. Most of the crawfish stopped moving. I think if you were judging distance covered, mine would have one. It was moving the WHOLE time, just in circles. Sam's crawfish only one because she pushed it to the finish line. CHEATER!!!

Here is Sam dropping the first crawfish into the pot.

We ended the evening by watching the Rocket's Game on our driveway. Our new neigbors Jodi and John have a projector and screen. I will add those pics once I get them from Sam.

It was such a FUN day and a great tradition to begin.
