A VERY Busy March!!!

This is a long post with lots of pictures! Enjoy!!

March 2009 has been one of our busiest months so far. Fortunately work slowed down some, so all the busyness is because of TOO MUCH FUN!!!

The first weekend of March was my birthday celebration weekend. I took Friday off from work and Mom came in town to play hookie with me. We shopped all day (ran out of time before we ran out of stores). It was so much fun. I love spending time with Mom and it is not often we have a WHOLE day to hang out. We had a great time. It was fun to go to Nordstrom's Bistro for lunch and get a glass of wine.

Friday night we had birthday dinner with the fam - minus Dad because he was still in HSB waiting for Grandma and Grandpa to get into town. We ate at Collina's. It was ok.....pizzas looked amazing. I might go back for pizza, but not for the pasta. It was BYOB which was fun though. I brought Rosa Regalde Champagne -- my all time favorite champagne. :)

Saturday Night Stacey and I celebrated our birthdays together. We went to dinner at Cafe Adobe and then met up with some friends at The Usual, a casual bar near our house. It was a lot of fun and we had a great turn out.

The second weekend of March, Erika and I were chaperones for a Philadelphia Sisters Mission Trip. (Phillies was the christian sorority we started with Whitney in college) I didn't actually take any pictures, but we were SO impressed by the girls in Phillies this year. They were all so sweet and caring and had SUCH a heart to serve the Lord. We went to Galveston to do Ike repairs. It was a VERY rainy weekend, so many of our outdoor projects had to be postpponed. We had a couple of free hours, so we went across the Ferry to Bolivar Island to do a Prayer Drive (similar to prayer walk only we were in our cars because it was raining). It was SO humbling to see the devestation that still remains on that island. That was the highlight of the weekend for me. Please continue to pray for the residents in Galveston....they are still hurting and trying to recover. It was a wonderful weekend. If anyone wants to coordinate a mission trip to Galveston to do Ike Repairs, I know a great christian organization that you can go through: Good News Galveston.

Third weekend in March ---- VEGAS!!!! We went to Vegas with my brother and sister in law, Scott and Amanda, and also with Alex's brother and fiance, George and Jennifer. George and Jennifer planned to get married in Vegas. We also had some family there and friends, for George and Jennifer's wedding. What a great weekend!!
We started off our Vegas weekend VERY early. Our flight was at 7:05AM, so we left the house around 4:30.

Alex and I ready to go -- waiting for our flight.
We made it!! We met Scott and Amanda at baggage claim and headed to our hotel, The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Great central location on the strip. This worked out really well since we had people in the MGM, The Venetian, and the Hilton.
Amanda and I in our room

Each room is assigned a movie theme. Our movie was "The Stupids" which I have never seen.
Scott and Alex were modeling the outfit from The Stupids.

There was a mall called The Miracle Mile attached to Planet Hollywood. Alex and I checked out some of the shops.

For dinner Thursday night, we ate at StripHouse - the steakhouse in Planet Hollywood. It was FABULOUS.
