One to go in the record books.

So Valentine's Day finally got here yesterday.  I have so been looking forward to our date night.  Neither Alex or I are really big on doing anything for Valentine's Day. In college, we were in different cities, so we didnt really have the option to celebrate together.  We NEVER do gifts on Vday, if anything it is just a guaranteed date night.  :)

Well, I don't know why this year was different...but Alex decided to plan a surprise night for me.  I knew he had made reservations at a nice restaurant because he told me I got to get dressed up.  Our reservation was a little earlier at 6, so Alex said that maybe after dinner we could go to our new fave wine place Corkscrew.  I thought that was a great idea and even mentioned calling up some of our other couple friends,  to see if they were wanting to meet up with us after dinner.  He suggested waiting until after dinner since we weren't sure when we would be done.  Works for me.  :)  I was just so excited to find out where we were going.

Here we are in the car in the garage ready to head to dinner.  I still had no idea where we were going.  We needed to stop and get some cash.  At the gas station, Alex gave me my valentine's day card and told me to open it at the restaraunt.
So I am looking at Alex in anticipation and he tells me we are going to ARTISTA!!!  I was hoping this was where we would be going.  The Hobby Center will forever hold a special place in our hearts because that is where our wedding reception was (i.e. best day ever in life) and Artista is one of those places I have always wanted to try.  We KNOW it is fabulous because it is a Cordua company and all their food is FABULOUS!!  I was getting antsy to open the card, so I convinced Alex to let me open the card in the car.  Alex always picks the BEST cards...so thoughtful and the perfect wording.  Well I am reading the card and tearing up.  so much so, that I didn't even notice the bottom of the card.
WHAT!?!?!?!?  Enjoy the show????  You have GOT to be kidding me.  I flipped out!!  I was already ecstatic about going to a yummy dinner, BUT a show too!!  And to make matters even BETTER, Legally Blonde was showing at The Hobby Center.  I think I hit Alex with the card and high fived him like 20 times.  He was driving, so I had to high five instead of hugging/kissing/jumping up and down.  How thoughtful is this husband of mine...OMG!

Dinner was amazing...and we had a great seat by the window so we could see the great view in Downtown.  We had such great conversation...it was just perfect.  :)

Alex and I have been dieting for 6 weeks now, so to have a dinner where we have wine, and potatoes AND dessert.  Everything tasted wonderful.  Just GREAT!!

Then it was on to the show...and as an added bonus Laura Bell Bundy (the original Elle from Broadway) came back to play the role as Elle last night.  She was amazing.  The play was really funny and so good.
SHOWTIME!!

What a great show and a fabulous night.  Definately a success for Alex.  He did such a great job.  Thanks for a great date night Honey!!!!
